About Tsavo
Comprising Tsavo East and Tsavo West, Tsavo represents one of the largest protected wildlife ecosystems on Earth. Tsavo East offers vast, wild horizons, the Yatta Plateau (the world's longest lava flow), and famous "red elephants" that coat their skin in iron-rich terracotta soil. Tsavo West presents a more dramatic, volcanic landscape marked by the Shetani Lava Flows, Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, and Mzima Springs—where millions of gallons of crystal-clear water bubble from the ground daily, supporting hippos and crocodiles viewed through an underwater glass observatory.
